  • UPS killed my Fuelmaker

i just recieved my FMQ2.5s that i went to canada to buy. i shipped them on the 29th. the got cleared by customs on the 30th. and they got into the port of catoosa 2 days ago. in the mean time UPS somehow figured that i didn't need these items to be in one piece. so the held onto them for 2 weeks just beatting the everloving S*** out of them. they got to us in such bad shape that even if we had all the plumbing and wiring set up we still couldn't get it plugged in because the housing is cracked so bad that we are afraid of water getting in or worse an animal making a home. moral of the story just rent a truck and bring it home yourself. i wish that i would have and a big middle finger to UPS.

If you saw that the box was damaged you could of refused the shipment before you signed for it and call fuelmaker and then get another one shipped to you. I work for Fed Ex and customs can be a pain in the you know what. Two weeks is ridiculous though, really. I know we are more expensive, but you get what you pay for. Did you have an option to send it Fed Ex? I'm sorry, that sucks.

yeah we had the option but for 1,150 dollars to ship versus 150 dollars. i mean sure we only paid 1350 for both of them but still they could have sent them around the conveyor belt one or two times less. i live about a mile outside of claremore to the east on 20

Sorry to hear of the shipment damages.
But I am puzzled how you could go to FuelMaker and buy fuelers, not to mention shipping them. It was my understanding that FuelMaker ONLY sells direct to their authorized dealers - are you one of them?
If a dealer, then why not have had them shipped per usual however FuelMaker does so when filling you order?
If not a dealer, how did you swing such a direct purchase? There may be a line up at their door tomorrow if this is the case!

          FYI - Shipping Large Items.

Always call and ask for a 'Spot Rate'.

I'm going to go ahead and ask this, so everyone else doesn't have to...
What is a spot rate, and which shippers would be likely to offer it?

I guess it was not bolted to a pallet?
Always put it on a pallet, otherwise they will roll it around like a barrel.

                At Fed Ex,
When customers call in with dimensions of the package and the destination they will give you a price on the phone. It should be a really close estimate. You could use a pallet, but it would have to be over 150lbs total. Is the Phill that heavy? Doesn't look like it. For Fed Ex Freight or Fed Ex Heavyweight depending on the speed of the service you want. Freight is 4 or more days and Heavyweight is for 1-3 days.

Wow, that is a big difference. I am guessing they gave you the Priority Overnight Price. Dam that's expensive, I didn't think it would cost that much. Probably all the taxes and duties from customs in Canada.

A spot rate allows the shipper, fedex, ups, etc to give you a rate that is usally discounted for that shipment only. We sometimes ship things to China and if we have a week window, we call FEDEX and ask for a Spot Rate. It usually cuts the rate in half, at least in our case. If they are busy that week or dont have extra space on a plane, you wont see a discount.

                    It never hurts to ask.

I just got an amazing deal on these 2. but another question. i read that it will shut off if you have a large capacity vehicle. my truck now has over 25 gge is this to much for it to fill up in stock mode and how do you shut off that safety feature if necesarry?

Is it that much cheaper in Canada? Just wondering.

                              BRodri,
You will need to borrow a field programmer or hire a field programmer to change the capacity setting. Factory settings make it think, if it's running to long and not building pressure it has a leak and shuts off.

Obviously, you've seen "what Brown can do for you".
Everytime we ship anything, it's FedEx Ground/Freight/LTL.
UPS can't and woun't touch thier prices.

U.P.S. stands for Useless Peaceof ...... , and it's pronounced Oops!
