  • New Gas Well

    I will have a new gas well installed this summer.

    Are there "certified" dealers, consultants, etc that will install a home refueling unit (i.e. piecing all together the dryers, compresssors, etc. that I have read about on these forums) for a home gas well that will be piped to my house. I don't think at this point this is something that I would want to tackle myself.

    Thanks

    Rod,
    First, welcome to the forum. Have you had a gas test done to see if your gas is wet/hot/sour and what it's composed of ? Fuelmakers were designed to compress dryed low pressure natural gas only. Be careful

      Re: New Gas Well

      I too am going to see about filling from my gas wells (3) I guess after seeing some of the posts I need to see about sending off a sample to get it tested. One of the things that I am also interested in is if anyone is fumigating a diesel like you can do with propane? Just a little added into the intake to take away form the amount of diesel I would be using. Thanks a ton for any info you guys can give, and I will start reading as many posts as I can to get a better idea of what available and already being done..... thanks, Aaron

        Ran across this link, it has some instructions on self made dryers and filters and you may find it helpful.

          Well I'm back again --- exploring a home fueling station for a car.

          The well has been installed and it a line is running into my house in addition to running directly into the utility's line.

          I have gas that Im not utilizing and with gas a 4 bucks a gallon it seems as if I should explore this again.

          If the gas is already running to my house and being used by my furnace? do I really need to get it tested?

          Also where/who should I go to explore a home filling station? What is the cost these days? I live in Hudson Ohio

          Thanks to all

                  @Rod

                  I live in Massillon and have been home fueling since October '08 when I got my '09 Civic GX. If you have well gas, you will want to run it through one or two stages of dryer before trying to drive with it. You furnace and/or stove could care less about moisture as it just slightly reduced the Therm content but for compressing and driving it is a different story. If you are interested, I can refer you to the semi-local FuelMaker Tech who can get you set-up and going like others in our area since there is no public fueling option.

                    You may want to check out Greenline Fuel Corp. I bought a compressor from them and have been running off of well head gs for 4 months. Love it! I'm in SE Ohio.

                      Can you get me the referral for the semi-local? How do you like your civic GX? Are you happy with your home fueling solution?

                        Also used Greenline Fuel Corp. Great looking units that are a quality machine.
