  • Any chance for a Ford V10?

All I've seen is the BAF dedicated for the E450, which is too big and cumbersome for my family's needs. I def. want the Ford V10 in our next E350 as I find the 5.4 anemic, and I think the V10 may rank up there as one of the greatest engines ever made. I've seen several gas-burners with over 500k on the odo. without a rebuild.

Are there any options I may be missing?

We're allowed to swap engines as long as it's the same year or newer in the gasoline world. Any chances for something like that working in the CNG world? Like Finding an '08 E350 with a bad engine and swapping in a '09 E450 CNG.

I'm a big fan of CNG, and as you can tell, of the V10 too. There has to be a way for us to get both on our next family vehicle.

Why not convert a superduty diesel to a bifuel cng? The two go together very well.

Actually, Ford is actively promoting the V10 as a CNG engine. Check it out here: http://cngchat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=5869

I've thought of it often, especially with PDI right around the corner from my house. I still prefer the V10 to any Powerstroke I've driven to date (which is all of them except the new 6.7L). Plus, I'm on kind of an "F-Opec" kick and don't want to run the 30-50% diesel.

I missed that thread. Thanks for pointing it out. Maybe we'll see something soon Replacement time for our van is upon us, but I'd be willing to stretch it out a bit more if this is coming down the pipeline.

There is also the 6L GM Express/Savana vans. Our CNGchat sponser Lancer Auto is converting these in SLC for $500 after tax credits (shameless plug)...
