  • 2008 GMC truck 6.0L CNG conversion help

    Hello,
I'm new to your forum and need some info please. I own an automotive engine machine shop and have been asked by a local Nat. Gas Co. to perform the required changes to their new fleet of 2008 GMC 3/4 and 1 ton trucks w. 6.0L vin K gasoline engines to operate on CNG. The extent of my involvement will be the aluminum OHV cylinder heads. They tell me they did several of these conversions on some 2006 trucks with limited success. That is to say the valve seats suffered from recession/erosion within the first 50,000 miles. I understand that this will require replacing the valve seats with new seats suitable for CNG as well as valves and perhaps even the valve guides that I believe are manufactured of powdered metal rather then the traditional cast iron. Rather than just replace parts.... I'm asking for any help/info you may be willing to offer to produce a quality long lasting conversion. Please reply back with you suggestions comments.
    Thanks in advance,
    ric
