  • Massive coverage on our NaturalDrive 2008 Chev 1/2 ton EPA certification

    Hey gang,

We had a customer requirement for some dedicated model year 2008 CNG 5.3 liter Silverado trucks. So we pushed EPA on their new grouping policy and got the following vehicles on our certification today.

    4.8 liter
    Chevrolet C15 SILVERADO 2WD
    GMC C15 SIERRA 2WD
    Chevrolet C1500 TAHOE 2WD
    GMC C1500 YUKON 2WD
    Chevrolet K15 SILVERADO 4WD
    GMC K15 SIERRA 4WD

    5.3 liter

    Chevrolet C15 SILVERADO 2WD
    Chevrolet C1500 AVALANCHE 2WD
    Chevrolet C1500 SUBURBAN 2WD
    Chevrolet C1500 TAHOE 2WD
    Chevrolet K15 SILVERADO 4WD
    Chevrolet K1500 AVALANCHE 4WD
    Chevrolet K1500 SUBURBAN 4WD
    Chevrolet K1500 TAHOE 4WD
    Chevrolet G15/25 VAN CONV 2WD
    Chevrolet G1500/2500 EXPRESS 2WD
    Chevrolet G1500/2500 VAN 2WD
    Chevrolet H1500 EXPRESS AWD
    Chevrolet H1500 VAN CONV AWD
    Chevrolet H1500/2500 VAN AWD
    Chevrolet COLORADO 2WD
    Chevrolet COLORADO 4WD
    Chevrolet COLORADO CREW CAB 2WD
    Chevrolet COLORADO CREW CAB 4WD
    GMC C15 SIERRA 2WD
    GMC C1500 YUKON 2WD
    GMC C1500 YUKON XL 2WD
    GMC K15 SIERRA 4WD
    GMC K1500 YUKON 4WD
    GMC K1500 YUKON XL 4WD
GMC G15/25 SAVANA 2WD CARGO CONV
    GMC G1500/2500 SAVANA 2WD CARGO
    GMC G1500/2500 SAVANA 2WD PASS
GMC H1500 SAVANA AWD CARGO CONV
GMC H1500 SAVANA PASS VAN AWD
    GMC H1500/2500 SAVANA CARGO AWD
    GMC CANYON 2WD
    GMC CANYON 4WD
    GMC CANYON CREW CAB 2WD
    GMC CANYON CREW CAB 4WD
    HUMMER H3 4WD

Under the old program we would have only gotten what was on the GM test group of the vehicle we brought into the lab:

    GMC C15 SIERRA 2WD
    Chevrolet C15 SILVERADO 2WD
    Chevrolet C1500 TAHOE 2WD
    GMC C1500 YUKON 2WD
    GMC K15 SIERRA 4WD
    Chevrolet K15 SILVERADO 4WD
    GMC C15 SIERRA 2WD
    Chevrolet C15 SILVERADO 2WD
    Chevrolet C1500 AVALANCHE 2WD
    Chevrolet C1500 SUBURBAN 2WD
    GMC C1500 YUKON XL 2WD
    GMC K15 SIERRA 4WD
    Chevrolet K15 SILVERADO 4WD
    Chevrolet K1500 AVALANCHE 4WD
    Chevrolet K1500 SUBURBAN 4WD
    GMC K1500 YUKON XL 4WD

So things are looking up with EPA in putting some sanity into this whole "small volume manufacturer" business.

The above vehicles will have a $2,500 federal tax credit and run approx. $11k to install with a 21 gge tank. So in Utah the net cost is $6k, Oklahoma will be $3k, etc.

I think its kinda cool we got the Hummer H3 in there... any takers?

These are dedicated conversions as are the 3/4 ton trucks and vans too:
          http://cngchat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=5541

The 3/4 will get $8,000 federal tax credits whereas the 1/2 tons only get $2,500. We could have had $4,000 for the 1/2 tons had we invested another $25k or so in putting aged catalysts on the test vehicle. If anyone needs a fleet of these we can do this and get the higher credit in a re-application to EPA.

We are targeting around $10,000 for the conversions with 20 gge on board, fully-installed by our growing list of authorized facilities:
