  • 6.6L Duramax TurboDiesel

I already have a CNG truck and know a fair amount about CNG. Now I'm looking at buying a 2009 GMC Sierra 2500HD with the 6.6L Duramax TurboDiesel and have a few questions about diesel CNG.

    1. Can the 6.6L Duramax be converted?
    2. Will the turbocharger still give me the same power boost on CNG?
    3. Is it true that diesel CNG will save me more money than CNG on a gas engine of the same size?
    4. Will I still keep that massive torque diesels are famous for when I flip that CNG switch?
    5. Is it possible to install some kind of compressor to allow me to fill an LNG tank at a CNG pump?
    6. My old truck was setup to display the tank level on the OEM gas gauge when I flip the switch, is it still possible to setup the system this way?
    7. Are you guys freakin' awesome, or what?

Check out www.delucafuelproducts.com and search for the diesel-cng thread on this forum. Sounds like you can replace up to 80% of your diesel by fogging in CNG through your intake.

No you can't fully convert a Duramax but you can get an increase in horsepower and at least 30 MPGs or more to a gallon of diesel. Also burn a cleaner exhaust out your engine. The CNG and diesel run together mixed just as propane does but with better results.

Call Charlie at Tulsa Gas Tech we are experimenting with this right now to see if there is a market for the on road business. With a off road version we are seeing a great increes in HP and fuel economy. We are sending this type of system over seas as a on road co-fuel system soon.

The EPA would be the stumbling block to bring this type of system to the USA on road market.

CALL YOUR CONGESSMAN TODAY AND GRIPE ABOUT THE EPA.
