Re: NGV tips
As a general rule of thumb, only 40% of the stored gas in a three bank cascade arrangement is available for refueling. This means that a 30,000 cubic foot storage cascade will deliver about 12,000 cubic feet of natural gas quickly. This equates to about 96 equivalent gallons of gasoline.
One of the key components in a fast-fill NGV Refueling Station is the CNG Storage. In fact, the inclusion of ASME ground storage vessels really defines a fast-fill refueling application. Fast-Fill stations allow vehicles to pull up and refuel in a short period of time. In order to fuel vehicles quickly, gas must be drawn […]

Re: NGV tips
Thanks for educational link to McKenzie Corp website and information about cng storage and fast-fill capacity. This whole process is quite difficult to explain to "non-believers" who know nothing about CNG.
Quite disheartening though that NOT a single public cng refueling facility exists now in Pittsburgh, PA - - - home of McKenzie Corp. Closest facility is Washington, PA which now shows as non-operational - - - I last used this site in Dec 2007 on cross-country run in dedicated Civic GX. PA also lost public cng site in Harrisburg, PA which was just across the street from a Honda dealer (cng public site was by Pacific Pride). Guess that PA is home of "clean coal" (pun intended !!) . . . . even though they now have massive discovered quantities of natural gas as well.Last edited by Guest; 09-25-2009, 12:55 PM.
