Thanks everyone for your contribution to this growing community.

When I launched CNGchat in October the goal was to establish an easy-to-access place on the net for NGV owners and also for those who are seeking more information before purchasing one. We have gone from zero to over *350 members in a short time, and the forums are getting populated with excellent information and resources. We are well on our way.

Please take a moment to help us better understand the community demographics by checking all of the boxes above that apply to your situation.

If you have an "other" vehicle please post the make and model here on this thread as well as of course any comments, etc. (I know some of you lucky devils have a CNG Camry for instance).

    Thanks!

    John

It might be easier to point you in a direction if we knew where you were. I would start by reading through the conversions section of the group at: http://cngchat.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=18.
They seem to be showing up on EBay from time to time as well.

i have two different vehicles one is a 98 crown vic police cruiser with extended range it only has about 11 gge capacity. It sadly is dedicated. But i also have a bi fuel 91 chevy 1500 that has 24 gge and 243,000 miles. but it is statring to give me troubles on the normal gas part it likes to stall or some times die if i start it on normal gas and it's cold outside but any temp above 50 and it runs like a scalded dog any help on why it does this would be greatly appreciated.

Dual fuels that are not regularly using their gasoline components frequently suffer such complications. Gaskets, seals and o-rings tend to dry up and shrink. Fortunately, almost any garage should be able to diagnose and fix the gasoline portion of the vehicle. Since the cold contracts and heat expands, air leaks don't tend to be as noticeable when temps are up.

My Bi-fuel car automaticly starts on gasoline and in the summer after maybe 500m of drive it switch to gas. In the winter it takes longer to go to gas. I guess this is because the car does not operate good on gas when the engine is cold therefore it starts on gasoline.. You should maybe do the same in your car?

This vehicle does not start on normal gas and switch over to CNG it can only start on CNG and switch to normal gas if i try to switch fro gas to CNG the vehicle dies and will have to cool down before i can switch to either fuel and successfully start it.

                    Re: My vehicle(s)

I currently drive an '07 Acura TSX, and we're just about to trade in our '01 V6-Accord Coupe. Been looking at the Civic Hybrid and the CR-V (I really wish that was available in hybrid) for a while, but would MUCH rather have the GX - the problem is we live in SW Florida. Anyone know when Florida is going to start selling em? I'm not sure if I can even get a Natural Gas line to my house - can't imagine why not, but I don't know of anyone that uses it.

Also, why is there not a Civic GX hybrid? Wouldn't that be the ultimate? With Li-ions we'd be talking 70-100mpg on CNG! Guess the battery packs combined with the CNG tank would leave no room in the trunk...but so what? maybe on another platform (I'm so partial to Honda )

This is my first post - great site - hope to join the CNG drivers someday soon.

You'll have to talk to your gas co about the line, but here are a few dealers that are authorized to sell the GX in Florida.

                      1
                      Space Coast Honda
                      1885 Highway 520
                      Cocoa, FL 32926
                      (321)459-3344

                      2
                      Autoway Honda
                      17275 U. S. Hwy 19 N
                      Clearwater, FL 33764
                      (727)531-0444

                      3
                      Duval Honda
                      1325 Cassat Ave
                      Jacksonville, FL 32205
                      (904)899-1900

                      4
                      Proctor Honda
                      2373 W Tennessee St
                      Tallahassee, FL 32304
                      (850)576-5165

Refueling in Fl will be a challenge (refer to www.cngprices.com) if you don't have a home unit, however there is an FM4 on EBay right now and John (in our group) had a couple of them for sale recently.

The listed dealers are fleet only but I suspect they'd sell you one if you wanted a "fleet of one".

I got a 95 Nissan 240sx with 116 on it. I love that car and I had before everybody jumped on the bandwagon when drifting got popular in the US.
Also, have a 99 GX with 67k that I use for commuting, but it is currently not running due to a bad injector. Might sell the 240sx after the GX is fixed, I don't drive it that much b/c the GX is so much more affordable and clean.

Maybe later upgrade to a 350Z

We have 4, (down from 5) A converted dual fuel 2000 Suburban, my wife loves it, a dual fuel factory 03 Cavalier (both came from Murphy!), a dedicated factory 98 Ford PU purchased off Ebay ( before the demand really picked up) and an 04 bifuel factory Chev 2500 Extended Cab LS we bought new from our Chev dealer ( and hoped to promote and then they quit making them). We have time fill at the house and a fast fill at the shop and have a CNG forklift too. Being the Arizona FuelMaker Dealer we try to show everyone we can do the walk as well as the talk....................
We recently sold our very first cng vehicle, a 2000 cavalier up to a great kid in Utah, Kelli Kammerer knows him real well! So our vehicles are split 50/50 on personal and business use.

Dave, glad to see you "walk the walk". More business', even small fleets, should be looking at switching to natural gas. It's just a smart business decision when your fleet accounts for a substantial portion of operating costs, and that portion is rising daily with oil prices climbing through the roof.

I've yet to speak to a business owner that realized that there is financial assistance, through numerous sources, to green their fleet. That's one reason I put together the AFV Expo for the Thunder/Cruise-In event this year. We can't broadcast this enough. There is a choice to $100+ a bbl oil... and we have it!

I have a 2001 Camry that rocks! We also have a 1999 Crown Vic Police car that has been a very good car.
