I filled up yesterday at Trillium's Berkeley station. The price posted on their website was $1.699/gge (that same price is still listed on their website today) and the price listed on the pump (i.e., the machine that takes your credit card) was also $1.699. However, the printed receipt shows that I was charged $1.799/gge. I called Trillium to report the price discrepancy, I was told that the current price was $1.799. They said that they would post the correct price. (That's nice.) No offer of a refund for the overcharging. If any "regular" gas station did something like this, they would be in hot water with a number of state and local agencies. One of the lessons I learned from this experience is to always get a printed receipt.

Re: I was Overcharged by Trillium
Did Trillium violate comsumer protection law in ca? Sure did. did your liquated damages exceed $ 0.99 , I say class action lawsuit time !
My time is worth $66/hr in money and priceless with how little time we have on earth. I'm sure your time is worth a lot too. Tripping over Quarters to pick up pennies is not smart. All of us cng drivers are smarter than the general public, or at least I like to think so.
Folks , us retail customers are a very small part of the business. Be reasonable with the supplier , and they will do the same to us.

Re: I was Overcharged by Trillium
Hi:
I understand your frustration, but I think you may be protesting too much, as Shakespeare said.:-).
While Tillium re-set the card reader (the device that takes your credit card), they forgot to change the price at the dispeners.
I do not know about their website, as I have not checked, but I suspect the person in charge was not as prompt on this either, since prices change at the begining of the month.
Just consider yourself lucky. PG&E CNG stations up in that area (SF Bay) are currently $1.92/GGE, and Pinnacle CNG stations are $1.94/GGE.
Since CE does not post their prices on their web, you don't know until you drive to their stations. Last month (Feb. 09), their public stations in the SF Bay area were $1.80/GGE.
So depending how much fuel one uses each month, a price in March 09 at $1.80/GGE in SF Bay area is still not too bad, considering gasoline is now around $2.25/gallon. The differential may get better over time, but we'll have to wait and see.

Re: I was Overcharged by Trillium
CNG dispensers, at least in LA County, are under the same rules as gasoline dispensers. County Weights and Measures visits each dispenser regularly to make sure it is dispensing the correct amount of CNG and also that the price charged equals the posted price. If this happens again, you should also take a picture of the posted price and send both pieces of info to your County Weights and Measures office.02 GX
