  • CNGCHAT Radio-Curtis/AFVMAN does one hr show Friday's at 11am (Pacific)

I've been wrangled into doing a one hour segment on alternative energy every week for BlogTalk Radio. This is an on-line talk show that covers a number of different subjects, and they're looking for other industry experts to host their own shows.

I'll be covering alternative energy/fuels every Fridays from 11am-12pm Pacific Time). If you want to be a guest on the show and discuss your own topic, business, invention... or whatever, simply post your idea on a topic to this thread.

Guests need merely call into the show 5 minutes before it airs. The first show will be Wed, 10-22-08. You can check out BlogTalk at www.blogtalkradio.com. The alternative energy area is at: http://www.blogtalkradio.com/search/alternative+energy.

Maybe we should interview cngacrossusa on the topic of CE.

I'm open to suggestions and ideas. We're not locked into any particular subject, like cng, for example. We can discuss alt fuels in general, sustainability, whatever... Just let me know.

I don't have any useful questions at this time, but rest assured I'll be listening in.

Re: Curtis to Host 1 Hr Weekly Talk Show

Things have been delayed in getting the show up and running. I've been requested to find a co-host for the show. I'm thinking of rotating different industry people through the position. The show will run 3 months, once a week for 1 hr.

I don't know how I get talked into these things.

I'll be taking suggestions on topics, volunteers for the co-host positions, and callers to spice up the show. The subject matter is "alternative energy", which leaves the available subjects open to a wide range of subjects. Any thoughts, or suggestions will be reviewed for possible future shows.

          Hey Curtis

          Congratulations on your radio show.

You got "wrangled" into doing that Radio show because you have a wealth of information and knowledge on CNG and NGVs. You also possess great communication skills and, from what I've read on CNGChat, a pretty good sense of humor.

If you are looking for Guest suggestions, it sure would be great listening if you could get Representatives from General Motors, Ford, and Chrysler on your new show.

I would like to hear what, if any, future plans they have for CNG Vehicles in North America, seeing as these Auto Manufacturers sell factory NGVs in Europe.

          Congratulations, again.

I'll be listening in from Canada.

            Curtis,

They hit me up about a month ago and I also agreed to do a show but I never heard back from them. I am willing to co-host with you if you weekly or as needed. From what I was told I just had to call in and everything was done over the phone through computers.

Re: Curtis to Host 1 Hr Weekly Talk Show

Thanks, both of you. I'd love to get the "big 3" corralled for an hour of uncomfortable questions. In fact, cornered GM at the Clean Cities Conference At Big Sky. All he would say was "Stay Tuned" and if GM started retooling today, it would be 2-3 years before they could introduce a vehicle. I reminded him that there were a few GM products out there that just needed the steering wheel relocated... no response.

It seems that their focus remains on Hybrids and fuel efficient technologies.

Mario, we'll talk more about the co-host thing shortly.

I've postponed the first show until this Friday (11-14-08) due to the NGVTF meeting at Sempra Utilities in Downey on Wed. I'll announce the time shortly.

It appears that the call in number for the show is in New York and can be called at no charge if you have Skype, or from a cell phone that has no long distance billing. Feel free to call in with your questions and comments.

I'm still working out a guest list for the show, so I'll post the roster of guests as I develope it.

                        Curtis,
Does this means I'll have to get up early and start drinking at 9am so I'm sufficiently primed to call in and ask stupid questions?
Hey, I can make the sacrifice. Anything for you bro!

Man, this is going to be a long weekend. Better start hiding my keys and guns now.

You've got it bass ackwards, I'm gonna have you co-host one of the upcoming radio shows so everyone else can call in and ask you stupid questions. I liked your suggestion about doing a show on conversions. We'll set it up in the next couple of weeks. By the way, those aliens that abducted you... any probing go on while they had you? Inquiring minds....

                            Curtis,
Great first show, hope it snowballs from here. An hour doesn't seem long enough.

Lesson for Curtis: Close door or shut off PA in office while on air.

Lesson for Hal: Shut off cellphone while chatting. I can only do one conversation at a time.

                            Look forward to next show.

I agree it was a great start. Covered a good range of topics from clean cities to hydrogen

It was hard to hear some of the caller, is there a way to boost the volume in the income line? or ask them to speak louder?

                              Looking forward to Wednesday
