Re: Painting Civic GX
Does the PRD release at both temp and pressure on just pressure? If just pressure then a half empty tank should not cause the PRD to release because the pressure should not go up that high because of the high temp in the oven.
This should be a good question to ask Honda. Curtis, what's a good number to call them about this?John

Re: Painting Civic GX
I spoke to Honda today and there is a special proceedure when painting a GX. This must be followed if the car is to go into a heat booth to be "baked".
I couldn't get specifics but was told that the service dept can get the details of how this must be done. If a GX dealer has a body shop (mine doesn't), all the better.
Alan, in my service dept is off today but I'll try and get more detail when he returns.

Re: Painting Civic GX
I found the following in the "Emergency Response Guide" for the Civic GX.
On page 4 it reads:
The fuel tank also has an internal pressure relief
device to release all CNG if the temperature in
the tank exceeds 216ºF (102ºC). When this
device is activated, the CNG is routed out of the
car through a pressure relief outlet on the right of
the CNG manual shutoff valve.
So in theory you could bake in a 200 degree oven but why take the chance.John
