  • Ford Focus bi-fuel available (2008-2009: EPA only)

Transeco in Asheville, NC, should have a bi-fuel Ford Focus certified by sometime in July or August. It will be available only for Engine Family # 8FMXV02.0VD4--the 2 liter version. If you have a 2.3L, yer out of luck, and I don't know to what years that Engine Family # applies.

comparing the engine number with the numbers on the table of the CA-DMV:
    http://www.arb.ca.gov/msprog/carpool/carpool.htm
my best guess is that is applies to the MY2008 (first digit is a '8').

      Thanks!

I believe you are at least the fourth or fifth source of yet another time-saving website for automotive reguation/CNG-related data. This is what a forum should be all about. I will add that URL to my favorites list, too.

          IT'S DONE!

Transeco announced last Wednesday that they've just rec'd. their Certificate of Conformity from the EPA for the '08 Focus.

You can see the details on the website: www.transecoenergy.com

CONGRATULATIONS! We need more upfitters like them.

            Amen to that Bill,
It's been quite a gestation period, but it's good to see the guys with one under their belt. I've got to ask Alex if it was more stressful waiting to be a grandpa or waiting to get his COC.

BTW, we can also welcome Miles to the chat today. Maybe we can talk him or Alex into calling in to the BlogTalk Radio show and telling us how much "fun" it was getting through EPA.

            Congrats Guys !
            Good Job !

No Carb? On the website it says "EPA or CARB", so it's just EPA and you cant get one in CA?

Jody Stirewalt, from Transeco, and a key player in the certification of the Focus, will be on the radio show today at 11am (Pacific time). Call in at
                  (347) 838-8999 and ask about their intentions to do CARB certification.

Grand Marquis, Crown Vic or Lincoln Town Car. Same engine family.
                        BAF Technologies does the conversions.
