Need to rent a GX with stickers while my GX gets fixed

Anyone know where I could rent a GX with stickers for a week or two?

Some yo-yo just about ripped my front bumper off, broke the transmission radiator and bent up my finder while backing out of a parking space at work. At least they left their name and number.

Anyway I really don't want to drive the "Normal" lanes for a week or two while the GX gets fixed.

Welcome to the " Oh crap ,I'm late for work again cuz I can't use the HOV Lane " club .

When I sold the '01 GX on april 5th , no problem getting the '08 on april 8th. I got new plates two weeks ago , but stickers ? maybe mid June

I don't think EV rentals is still in business . They were the only one to rent cng cars.

Make sure the body show knows they can't use an oven to bake the paint !!!!
Fuel tank can vent above 200 deg. F.

Fox -- www.foxcarrental.com -- has some kind of affiliation (exclusive?)with EV Rentals at LAX and John Wayne Airport. They don't have GX's anymore, but they do have Honda Civic and Prius hybrids. They used to have HOV stickers on these models, but I don't know if they'd still have any old enough to have stickers. You could give them a call and find out.

That is, if you can stomach being in a hybrid.

Called fox but they won't have any until the 26th, Damn, by that time it's hardly worth it.

This is going to be a royal PIA. I had to leave this morning at 5:30 so I would miss most of the traffic.

On top of that EV it's another $1.70 per gallon plus 10MPH less. I'm so screwed. I didn't realize how much I'd miss my GX until now.

I'm still going to tell the other Insurance company that they are going to get me a Prius for the next two weeks. At least that way I'll knock down some of the extra cost.

Just driving the thing is bad enough though. I'm just glad it wasn't your fault. If you weren't an admin, i'd be worried about you getting kicked off the site! I'm sending my regards from UT. I hope to have my GX back next Tuesday, maybe if I'm lucky Monday.

While it was in the shop the dealer installed the fire blanket, changed my filters and replaced the plugs. Only thing that came up was the spark plug tube seals we're leaking which was getting on the coils so they replace the seals along with the cylinder head cover gasket.

My understanding is that if they didn't the oil could damage the coils requiring their replacement as well. They recommend replacing the seals when you do the plug if there is any oil but in my case there was quite a bit of oil on the plugs from the leaking seals.

Didn't have time to check with the group so I figured better let them do it now rather than later and cost more. If some here think they're pulling a fast one I'll call them on it when I pick up the car. Based on the cost I figured it takes about and hour and a half to do it.

Was it the Fox car rentals?

Yes, Fox as they are the only one that has stickers for some but not all of their priuses. Two weeks came out to about $450 although it looks like I have it for a couple of extra days.

OUCH, I hope your insurance is kicking in some dough. I just checked with mine a while back and added a 20$ a day compensation cost me about 50 bucks a year. It's good for up to 30 days rental.

John, just do a quick read on the emissions parts covered under the extended warranty and make sure they give you all parts replaced.

My insurance is the same but the other persons insurance is picking up the tab. I demanded a "Like" vehicle which included HOV stickers. The only thing was that I had to pay for the rental up front since they only have direct pay with Hertz and Avis so I'll have to wait a few days for my check. For them is still a good deal since a Prius with stickers from Fox cost less than either Hertz or Avis without stickers.

I told the dealer I wanted the plugs and filters back but I'm not sure about the seals since that came later. The plugs do show the oil staining which should never happen since there are seals both top and bottom of the hole where the plugs are. I looked at the parts diagram to see just what they were talking about. If the bottom seals do leak I can see where oil will get to the plugs. I'll have them double check to see if those seals are covered under the 150K emissions warrantee but somehow I doubt they will be.

At lease I should have the car back in time for the Cruise-in

An update on Fox. They no longer rent cars with HOV stickers. My wife was hit before she even got her plates and according to the CS rep at Fox, they have no HOV cars as of last month.
