I would like to know what the components of a basic CNG Kit are? I am not talking about a factory installed kit but one that is an add on? Thanks for any help, Jim

Re: What are we looking at here?
Here is a link for a guy converting a lawn mower engine.
Quick and simple propane fueled lawn mower setup and run video. The lawn mower featured is a 1989 Toro model 20588 with a Tecumseh TVS-100 engine. I changed ...
In theory you could do the same thing with Natural gas except you have to carry enough fuel with you to make it with while. One GGE is about 128 cubic feet of gas. If you did not compress it the tank would be very large very fast. So you then have to put in a compressed air tank. You have to then regulate the pressure down to what the engine needs( perhaps .5 PSI and you tanks hold 3600 PSI).
Then of course you would want it to actually run right so that it does not screw your engine up or use more fuel then in gas mode. So, you have to put in some way to adjust the fuel mixture and timing. If its dual fuel then its got to be dynamic. It has to interface with the engines computer so the EPA is happy.

Sounds simply enough. Where's my hammer............?

Re: What are we looking at here?
Cars roll down the road every day, they roll on Gas, Natural Gas, Propane
and Diesel. What makes them roll is all of the Machinists, Engineers and Mechanics that put the together and keep them running. The Politicians just screw things up. CNG cars will roll with or without the Politicians, Jim an old Mechanic.....Jim Younkin
