Yesterday evening a sky blue metalic Camry was having a photo session at one of the pumps. It's pretty. Very Pretty!

Was it a 2000-2001 or was it a new one? Are you saying that there exists a Hybrid CNG, new?

I get the IANGV newsletter and YES there is an article that Toyota will introduce a CNG Hybrid Camry . . . finally !! See at:

Not sure why Toyota wouldn't just re-introduce the 1999 to 2001 CNG Camry, but oh well. My guess is Toyota wants highest sticker price as possible.

I've also seen Toyota Corolla's that are CNG in other countries per the IANGV newsletter . . . but of course NOT in good ole USA.

Maybe big auto makers are beginning to listen . . . . let's hope!

Toyota made no claims they were going into production of the car, they said they are "testing the waters".

I think its going to be at the LA auto show this month if I remember correctly. You guys in So Cal should go check it out. Is the show open to the public?

YES it is open to the public, and not free.

Ooops, you are right JetBoatJohnny, the Toyota article doesn't say they will release to production, just will have car at LA auto show. Let's hope interest is overwhelming. Toyota should also produce a Prius bi-fuel like the "test" car in France that got over 100 mpg.

Yea baby I am there! I just got confirmed free pass through (automotive industry) for the vip days (November 19,20) these days only press and vips are allowed. I know in the past I have seen movie stars, elected offiicials any many other A listers there. On Nov 20, 2009 Green Car Journal will announce the Green Car of The Year Award for 2009 at the show and also there is a green car ride and drive on the 20th too. I hope the Toyota will be available

Yes it was "Spanking Clean New". The Front end, hood line, is solid and extends and includes what is shown in the photos as the grill. If they build it, you won't be able to miss it in your rear view mirror. This show Camry has a Hybrid CNG tag line, low, on the side, a bit like the NGV info is on the GX.

Funny. Why would they fill in Signal Hill as opposed to Carson? I think because Carson is not fwy close. As you know, they are in Torrance, minutes from the Carson station. Next time get pictures. (As if).

I got a rt rear photo as I passed by, but wasn't able to get a front photo. I didn't want to interupt the photo session or block the exit. The photo is a lack luster cell phone photo so I haven't uploaded it, anyway it looks just like a Camry from this angle.

Very cool, it would be better to dump the hybrid part as that with the CNG premium would make this car very expensive.

Every time I go to the Toyota dealer for parts for my CNG Camry the sales vultures run up and ask if they can "help". I always say Sure! if Toyota is selling a CNG Camry again I will buy it right now, they always have confused looks....
