?). The Rav was (and still is) one of the nicest running Ev's ever built. It has proved to be very reliable and durable. For a vehicle of it's size, it's 100+ mile range, load carring capacity and speed is exceptional for a design that is over 10 years old. I would hope that the next batch of Ev's will have longer range and lower prices then the original $42,000 Rav4, but don't count on it until production and sales levels come up to a level the allows the economies of scale to come into play. Until recently, if you told anybody that you paid a $5,000+ premium for a Cavalier or a Civic so that it could run on compressed gas that is available in limited areas or had to be filled at home with an additional 5 to 8 thousand dollar compressor they would have looked at you like you had lost your mind. And as I own all of the above, I must have lost my mind many times over and I am still happy with the decisions I made
Especially in the bay area where gas is 4.40 for regular.
