Frito-Lay celebrated the opening of a new Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) station in Dallas the third week of October, advancing its large-scale commitment to alternative fuel. The station at 4200 Duncanville Rd is open to the public.
The CNG station -- owned and operated by Questar, a natural gas company that has two other fueling stations in Texas -- bolsters Dallas’ current CNG infrastructure. Frito-Lay is the anchor tenant at the new station, which is also open to other companies currently using or thinking about alternative fuels for medium and heavy-duty trucks in the future.
Frito-Lay will continue to grow its CNG fleet, bringing the total number of its CNG tractors to more than 300 by the end of 2014. Once deployed, the CNG tractors will make up 30 percent of Frito-Lay’s fleet.
