    Linde North America says it has worked with C Cross Transportation to complete trial operations of its liquefied natural gas (LNG) mobile fueling unit - a small-scale platform that allows stakeholders to try LNG as an alternative fuel.

    C Cross Transportation is a Mississippi-based heavy-duty hauler that operates a fleet of more than 100 tractors. The company and Linde set up the mobile unit to support an LNG truck that C Cross is testing in South Carolina. Linde handled the logistics, arranged the installation, deployed the equipment and provided training.

    "We were eager to test whether using LNG is feasible, and we are very pleased with the results," says Harrison Cook, president of C Cross. "Based on experience to date, we expect to expand the test going forward."

    "This test demonstrates the simplicity of our LNG mobile fueling system," adds Douglas Bell, head of energy solutions, operations, at Linde North America. "We are delighted to report this positive experience from the field."

    For its part, Linde is building its own clean fleet by converting existing vehicles to run on LNG and purchasing new LNG-fueled tractors.

          AGTLNG, of Dallas Oregon, put a video up this week of its small scale LNG unit in operation. The restart of this 2015 demonstration unit is the culmination of the acquisition of a plant for production of units suitable for fleets to have at their own yards. Ray Tate, Jr - founder - has utilized a four stage CNG compressor to supply his patented chiller, all operating from a natural gas engine.

          The Sterling LNG daycab seen driving away in the video was purchased in Nov 2016 and driven from Los Angeles using public LNG stations in Whittier CA; Tulare CA; Lathrop CA; and Central Point OR. At the time this video was produced in Nov 2017, its tank could only have had fuel from the demo unit shown in the video. Any prior fuel would have been gone and the truck did not have enough fuel when it arrived in Dallas Oregon to reach the nearest LNG stations in Fife WA or Central Point OR - each of which are 200 miles away.

            Joseph Bebon for NGTNews December 1, 2017 - Omnitrans, a public transit agency serving California s San Bernardino Valley, recently celebrated the completion of new state-of-the-art CNG fueling systems at its San Bernardino and Montclair facilities. According to a press release, the systems replaced LNG equipment used by the agency since 2002.

            According to the release, the large LNG storage tanks used in the prior systems generated concern from area residents, and the switch to CNG is projected to save Omnitrans $1.6 million annually in fuel costs compared to LNG. The San Bernardino site includes three CNG compressors, and the Montclair site has two compressors. Combined, these meet the daily 176 bus fleet demand of the CNG equivalent of about 10,000 gallons of gasoline, and each bus takes less than eight minutes to fuel:

              LNG is really taking a dive in favor of CNG.

                Nov 21 2017 HDT Truckinginfo - Ryder System Inc. awarded Clean Energy a four-year fueling contract for a fleet of LNG heavy-duty trucks that move goods for Toyota Motor Manufacturing, Toyota s largest manufacturing facility in North America located in Georgetown, KY.

                Clean Energy will open an LNG station in Georgetown to fuel the trucks that are expected to consume approximately 380,000 GGEs each year.

                  In 2016 the Dresser-Rand business commissioned its first LNGo-LP (low-pressure) micro-scale natural gas liquefaction system at the Ten Man LNG facility in Pennsylvania. Here, the LNGo technology enables the operator, Frontier Natural Resources, to monetise stranded gas assets at Tenaska Resources LLC's Mainesburg field, located in the Marcellus shale natural gas field.

                    Cryobox can produce up to 7000 gpd (gallons per day) LNG. The high-pressure, thermodynamic cycle of the Cryobox converts natural gas to the liquid state as temperatures are reduced to less than minus 307 F below zero. This multi-stage compression process includes a boil-off recovery system which eliminates all gas-venting usually associated with LNG storage and loading facilities. This process avoids gas waste while complying with all safety and ecologic regulations.

                    The Cryobox can, instead, supply up to 2000 Nm3/hr (560 GGE/h) of CNG according to demand and before the production of LNG for your own local fleet of vehicles, or to refuel other urban vehicles.

                      David Rowlands for LNG Industry 18 June 2019 - EDGE produces first LNG in the US

                      Edge Gathering Virtual Pipelines 2 LLC (EDGE), a company that converts stranded and flared natural gas into LNG, has produced and delivered its first LNG in the US.

                      According to the statement, EDGE began on-well-site LNG production in the US on 7 May this year, accessing Marcellus gas in Pennsylvania, and making truck-delivered LNG sales to its first customers, which include Emera Energy Services, Inc. To date, the company has delivered more than 30 000 gal. of LNG to a delivery point at a New England gas utility over 300 miles away from the Marcellus production site.

                      The EDGE Virtual Pipeline works by utilising Galileo Global Technologies transportable CryoboxTM LNG production and liquefaction equipment at the natural gas wells, and delivering the LNG directly to customers. The Cryobox units fit on standard 40 ft tractor trailers and are designed to be quickly and easily connected and disconnected from feedstock gas wells. In addition to this, the units are also self-powered, using produced gas, removing the need for a grid connection.

                      Mark Casaday, Chief Executive Officer of EDGE, said:

                      It is estimated that stranded wells account for up to 60 percent of global reserves, and up to 20 percent of those drilled in Marcellus, showing the scale of this untapped resource. The virtual pipeline model has already been deployed in Mendoza, Argentina, where the first LNG-fuelled power plant running entirely on previously stranded gas, is now well established. Now we are bringing this innovation to the US and rest of the world. With EDGE, well-owners can monetise these assets for the first time, and the market benefits from the lowest cost and highest quality LNG available.

                        NGVjournal Oct 18, 2019 - New LCNG station under construction in Belgium

                        LNG technology innovator LIQAL and station operator Drive Systems will collaborate to build a turnkey fueling station for LNG and LCNG in Londerzeel, Belgium and is planned to be operational by April 2020.

                        With a storage capacity of 80,000 liters, this full-service and automated fueling station will supply LNG and LCNG, as well as traditional fuel. Drive Systems will operate the LNG/LCNG station, and Maes Energy & Mobility is responsible for building and operating the filling station for the traditional fuels. Th4e station also has an advanced online monitoring and trending system, MID-certified LNG fuel dispenser with heated and purged nozzle docking bay, on-the-fly saturation, boil off gas (BOG) management and LIQAL’s station KPI dashboard for clients.

                        This new project is funded by the EU Connecting Europe Facility as part of the BENEFIC project.

                          HAM Group has purchased 11 new Scania R 410 tractors that will join its fleet at Transportes HAM, a company in the road transport sector that specializes in cryogenic and flammable products.

                          The company’s fleet is exclusively powered by LNG. HAM Group was the first European company to use LNG in its vehicles for road transport. In 2000, the company imported 10 tractors from the U.S. that used LNG, and its fleet has continued to grow.
