the dealer filed my car under gas? help!

i got my plates today and i was looking at my registration.... i think they filed my car under gas(G)..... could you guys help me and compare it to your registration?

I want to file for an HOV lane access and I'm not sure if i should file it yet if it's wrong....

this is what it says on the registration:

VLF CLASS: HK
TYPE VEH: 110
BODY TYPE MODEL: 4D
MP: G
MO: PX

Looks like they got you. You'll have to go into the DMV and go through the vin verification process. sorry to tell you. Might drop back into your dealer and double check with the finance guy/gal that did the paperwork. THe MP should read "N", not "G".

hey curtis, i know a guy that works for the dmv... is it an easy thing to fix or is it hard? if it's easy then I can tell him to change it real quick for me... lol

btw do i really have to go back to the finance guy? i'm really pissed right now because he cannot do his job correctly the first time..... I don't want to talk to him any more because I told him when he was doing the paperwork to put N and not G, but he still put G.....

Don't blame you in not wanting to talk to the dealer. Now you know why people travel so far to deal with me. I'd definitely give your buddy a whirl. If it works out it would save you some time and agravation. There's a form (298 I think, or something very close to that) that has to be sent in, an inspector has to verify the vin on the car and fuel source match, then they'll reissue the reg with the correction. Will possibly add another 3 weeks to the time it will take you to get your HOV stickers, a process that usually takes about 3 weeks with no glitches. That finance guy was probably operating on auto-pilot and did what he does 99.9% of the time... typa a "G" on the Report of Sale (R/S).

For the rest of you, you can check this yourself in finance before it gets this far, just make him/her show you that they typed in the "N" for natural gas. It will save you some time and headaches later on.

I've been waiting for my plates to come in (3.5 weeks) I did get a call from the dealer after my inquiry about the MP and they told me that they will make sure to select that the vehicle is a natural gas vehicle. I can jsut imagine what my suprise will be...???...

In any event, I have my form ready just incase they do mark it wrong.
For CA, use form "Statement of Facts (REG 256)"
