  • 269.9 Miles, 3 Segments Still Lit & No Bingo Light...

when I pulled into the Santa Clarita, CA CE fueling station to fill up my '07 GX.

I would have gone home and returned tomorrow, just to see how far I could go on one tank, but with 3 segments lit now I could easily make it to San Fernando if SC was down.

That is awesome especially in the summer. What are your driving habits?

Keep it coming, that's the one thing I worried about with a 100mi day RT. Do I need to fill up every night ?

      Thanks

What are you filliing with/at ?

        bakaroma,

This was about 5% stop and go driving. I turned the engine off at a couple of notoriously long red lights in and around town. The rest of the time it was 35 mph to 65 mph highway/freeway driving with the cruise control on. I didn't have to use the a/c so I was able to keep the windows up or slightly opened when up to speed.

I did fill up, then return to the pump and top off the next morning before starting. So, I did start with a good fill. One interesting point, my mileage was just above 43 mpg. I've actually done better with 100% straight freeway driving.

I'd like to do 100% freeway driving and nearly drain the tank sometime, then see how far I could go and what the mileage would be.

That is great. I drive about 85% freeway @ 70 mph so I am excited to see what I get. I am hoping to pick up my GX today as its ETA to the dealership was yesterday.

            Purpored record: 336 miles

Barry Carr of American Honda told an audience recently that he holds the record within the Honda ranks for maximum distance in a stock GX of 336 miles "of which, I must admit, the last 3 miles were on the back of a flatbed truck"

            Musta been a nasty tailwind

Longest I personally know of is 325 mi (20 mi on low fuel light). All fwy, starting in Palmdale, Ca to So. Bay area. 4000psi fill to start and lots of drafting behind semi trucks at 60-65mph.

I was able to drive 20 miles with no bars!

My record is 212 miles, driving 75-80, from Hemet (topped off at 3600psi) to Lancaster and back to Anaheim. The fuel light came on at 207 miles, so I probably could have run out around 240. Light comes on around 900-1000psi, longest driven with light on was 26 miles.

Note that Johnny has a '99 GX, so a considerably smaller tank capacity vs. the new ones after '06. My son has a 98 and with a good overnight time fill we can go about 200 if lucky.

I did it again on the next tank of gas. 273 miles 2 bars lit and no bingo light.
