        Re: Valve Adjustment

For the record, Honda recommends valve adjustments at 160k if they ate meking noise. This applies to the 2006 and newer models.

          Re: Valve Adjustment

          Hello,
We have only had our CNG a week and a half. It ran great for the test drive and the previous seller and then it started misfiring a little then a lot. The check engine light came on while we were out so I drove to an AutoZone and had them hook it up. It came up with misfiring cylinders. My husband, who is more than a backyard mechanic, has never worked on CNG before so there are some things in a learning curve for him. We have not even had time to get shop manuals for the vehicle yet. I have been searching the forums to offer him what I can find. He has tested the spark plugs, wire, used a stethoscope on the injectors and a few more tests and everything keeps coming out good.

So he would like to know:
When you adjust the valves what is the specific setting?

In an injector coil resistance test how many ohms is the appropriate range?

How do you put the fuel regulator in test mode?

Some of these questions could have been answered if we could have gotten a manual in time. But the car isn't working well now and it is the holidays so my husband has time to work on it, between snow storms that is

Thanks for any suggestions you have.

            Re: Valve Adjustment

I have a 2003 Civic GX. I called Honda Customer Care and got the following cold clearance values:

            Intake: 0.18-0.22 mm (0.007-0.009 in)
            Exhaust: 0.23-0.27 mm (0.009-0.011 in)

Intake stem to guide: 0.02-0.05 mm (0.0008-0.0020 in)
Exhaust stem to guide: 0.05-0.08 mm (0.0020-0.0031 in)

These values may be different for other years.
