  • "B" service

So, I'm at my B1 service for my 06 GX (16,000 miles). Went to two dealers for quotes. Both said $104 for a "B" service. When I mentioned that I was a GX owner and needed 'special' things like fuel filter replacement, they all said there is no fuel filter replacement in the "B" service.

    Huh? It's in the manual.

They say the manual is wrong.

    Hrmm.

Do I just get the "B" service and forget the filter (saving about $360), and rely that Honda will have to honor the warranty since the dealer performed the "B" service? Or should I find a dealer that will replace the filter and eat the current $360 cost?

    Thanks,
    Robert

I hate to say it, but if the vehicle is serviced by a certified cng dealer and you have records of all services... Honda would be liable, or at least the dealer, in the event of a warranty issue related to the filter. Not replacing it should not really create a problem unless you have had an issue with a lot of oil in your fuel. Not generally a problem out here on the West Coast and never a problem if using a Phill.

Just check to see if they are a GX dealer. If so, they have a cng mechanic on site... or at least they are required to.

Just to CYA get it in writing from the service manager that the filter isn't required for the "B" service.
