  • Thermo valve coolant to the high pressure regulator

Does anyone know what the thermo valve function is. This is a pipe that is inline that the coolant flows through as it goes to the high pressure regulator. It is located under the intake manifold. This vave is used on multiple years and versions of the civic gx.
My guess is that this is meant to be a one way check valve to keep the coolant flowing one direction. This valve is made of brass and aluminum but does not come apart. I had some issues with my 2002 GX not getting much heat to the regulator. I suspected that the thermo valve was plugged up. I took it off and blew it out. It seems to flow fine now.
Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you
