CNG Tank Size on a Chevy Silverado?

Hi all. I just purchased my 2nd bifuel vehicle. This one is a 2003 Chevy Silverado 2500 HD (crew cab) with factory CNG. The dealer I purchased from thought the CNG tank(s) were 20 gallons. Can anyone confirm?

Don't know about the actual capacity but if it is less than 20gge it wouldn't qualify for any tax credits.

I think it is the Quantum tank, approx 20 gge.

There is no federal credit available on this vehicle as it is used. Utah will provide you with a tax credit of 35 percent of the vehicle's purchase price, up to $2,500 so long as the credit has not been taken already. Details:

Thanks guys. I'm hoping it is the 20 gge.
Fortunately the state has indicated that the truck hasn't been registered for taking the state tax credit yet, so I'm hoping for the $2500 credit. Just wish it wasn't such a pain to do though...

The GM owners manual (CNG supplement) on my 2006 2500HD silverado ext. cab says 21.3 gge.

What kind of fuel economy do you get with your 2500 cng when pulling a trailer and not pulling a trailer? Do you have a 6.0 engine? I am thinking about purchasing a gm 2500. Thanks.

That's great. For some reason I didn't see the tank size in my CNG supplement manual. I'm assuming the 2006 and 2003 would have the same tank size. With my limited usage so far, I haven't been able to tell yet if I'm closer to 15 or 20.

I haven't used my truck enough to get a good reading yet, nor do I have the real-time MPG reading in my dash so I can't really say. I've been using mine mostly for short drives and I did haul a load of compost and seem to be getting about 10MPG on CNG. I've got some performance degredation on the lift and tires I have though.
