  • Where is the High Pressure Lock-off?

2001 Cav, need to shut off CNG to service the LPR. I read another post that indicated the HPL should be accessible via an access hole in the trunk. I've removed the tank cover and no valve, no access hole.

The high pressure lockoff is inside the tank. Just disconnect the single lead connector (orange wire) located on the left side of the trunk near the tank. Start the engine and run it until it switches to gasoline. Shut off the engine. Loosen the nut on the low pressure lockoff to relieve any residual CNG. When you are done with repairs, connect the orange wire connecter back together and start the car on CNG. You will have a service light on the panel for the next three starts and then it will go away.

You can also tighen the allen wrench screw on the solenoid valve going into tan. You don't even have to remove the tank cover.

Too late, but I'll remember that next time. Now that I've figured that out, can anyone tell me how to remove the LPR safely without breaking the hose that leads from the front of the LPR to the computer control unit?

You can rebuild the LPR on the car if you don't want to mess with the hose. If the hose is showing any sign of cracking, don't try to remove it. The hose must be replaced with the factory part which is not cheap. (same thing goes for the smaller hose from the GMS to the distribution adapter)

I did rebuild it on the car itself, though it wasn't that easy. But it worked fine, no more gas smell.
