I was thinking about buying an F150, but i have to tow horses and the like. But does the towing power suffer at all compaired to the gasoline version? Does it come as dedicated or bi-fuel? Both? Hows the gas mileage? Does anyone service them in Cache Valley?

Re: Thinking of buying an F150
My son's both own extended cab bi-fuel F150s. One is a 2000 and the other a 2001. They are both 2wd 7700 series with automatics. I am thinking they both indicate the CNG mode doesn't put out quite as much power as the gas mode. I have a 2001 regular cab F150 7700 4x4, but the CNG isn't working right now so I can't tell you what it will pull. I think they were saying they were getting around 16-17 MPG. I am only getting around 13 mpg, but I think I need a tune up. They drive their almost exclusively on CNG because of how much cheaper it is to drive. (It costs them about 1/2 as much to drive their trucks as it costs me to drive a 3 cylinder Geo Metro).
Most fo the F150's you find will probably be bi-fuel and the 7700 series. The 7700 series trucks were actually F250s in 1999. I'm not sure, but there may actually be some dedicated F150's but I imagine pulling horses you would need the range to get into the mountains and back without refueling, and the bi-fuels have a farther range that the dedicated do.
Be sure to have the Compuvalve checked out as they are expensive to replace and seem to be troublesome on these trucks.
Just some thoughts...
Good Luck
