  • Crown Vic Rough Running

I just tested out my newest thought about my Crown Vic. If you are having surging sensations while you are driving it might be time to change your coils they cost a whopping $50 a piece from your local parts stores and they clean up the problem just as quick as you can put them on but i say while you are doing that just go ahead and change the wires and spark plugs. premium wires and cheap plugs have always worked the best in all my cars that means no to platinum bull crap plugs.so a complete overhaul might cost you a total of $150-$190 depending on where you live.

I think he means "Tune Up" not overhaul...

I had a very bad misfire on my 99 CVPI when I first bought it.
I put in OEM Plugs, Autolite XP Iridium XP103 , $50 and replaced the factory coils with MSD Ford Coil-on-Plug, (’99-’04 ,4.6L SOHC,
set of eight (PN 82428)) $388. These were actually cheaper than the aftermarket replacement coils.

It now runs great, and I am getting about 24.8 MPGGE on the freeway @ 70MPH.

Where is the best place to get the filter and plug wires?

On a tip from p72cng at the ce station, I bought a set of 8 poc coils for a 100$ or so on ebay- new. Both cars I did it to run better as he experienced. Supplier was in ohio I think
