recently bought a 2002 ford bi-fuel 4x4 f150. when i got the truck it was having problems starting on natural gas. sometimes it would and sometimes it wouldn't. then sometimes after i got it started on natural gas it would just switch back to gas whenever. just random switches. had the compuvalve checked by the guy in st. george and he said it was good. don't know what else to check. any help would be great thanks.

Re: 02 bi fuel starting and staying running problems
Hi, Astout. Just wondering, as I could not find any reply to your earlier post below. We are new to this forum, having just bought a 2002 F-150 Bifuel. From your description, we share the same symptoms, and want to avoid paying $300 to a dealer just to diagnose the problem. Would you mind letting us know if you were able to resolve your issues, and what actions you took? We truly appreciate it very much!
Thanks,
Greenford

Re: 02 bi fuel starting and staying running problems
Does the ALT fuel light stay green? Does it start and run well on regular gas? Is the problem worse when its cold? I just had my coil packs and plugs changed out at 100,000 miles. The old plugs look OK, but you could see where 3 of the coil packs were cracked and arcing. There were some misfires recorded as trouble codes when reading the OBDII memory. I also had the O rings replaced in the injector bungs and the CNG system flushed with Ford injector cleaner. My truck (99 ford bifuel) is running much better now on CNG. It always ran good on regular gas, but I like to run it on CNG 'cause its so much cheaper.
