  • Ford CNG Dealer Locator

Here is a link to find Ford dealers that are, or at least were active CNG maintenance and repair facilities.

Some of these dealers no longer fool with CNG since Ford pulled out of the US market, but they may still have their finger in it or carry parts that you need.

    Good luck.

You are right, some of those on the list no longer service the vehicles. Colley Ford jumped out of it, though Wondries Ford in Alhambra deals with lots of LA County / City vehicles, so they are pros.

I had my 98 F250 in for a minor leak on the underbody tank valve, and though it took a few days for them to "validate" my soapy water test findings, they eventually replaced the value (versus tightening it?) and did some free recall work while they were at it.

I just tried to have a service on a 2000 Ford Crown Vic at Pearson Ford in San Diego, was informed they will no longer service CNG. Service wasn't completed, have to take it to another Ford dealer.

I have also seen GM stopped production of CNG cars as of 2003 model year. Have you heard any reasoning to why they did that? Actually, Ford, GM and Chrysler no longer offer CNG vehicles. Do you know why?

Probably because of death threats from OPEC???

Seriously though, I would be surprised if the petroleum industry wasn't putting heavy pressure on the manufacturers to prevent AFV from success. They don't want their gravy-train taken away, especially now that the gravy is gold-plated

Letters, Letters, and more letters, to the makers, to the editor, to anybody who will listen. Tell them america is beyond ready for CNG to become mainstream.

I have a hunch that, if gas prices don't head south, we will see a totally different car and truck market in two years. CNG, electric, plug in hybrid and good old gasoline (they get 60-65 mpg in Europe). I think that this is the answer. We must have more than one way of fueling our vehicles. Everyone talks about "the silver bullet" to save us from opec when the reality is that oil was the silver bullet and look where it got us. We need competition for our energy dollars. If we could go to a car dealer and buy cng or electric cars right now, we wouldn't be getting screwed so bad. As it stands, they can charge $10.00 per gallon and the only choice most Americans would have is not going to work.

This is almost true today. I've stopped driving to work and started riding the pedal bike. I know not everyone can get away with it but i work close enough (roughly 5 miles) and early enough that the heat doesn't get me in the summer, and it's not too cold here in the winter either (southern utah). As soon as i can find a decently priced CNG kit for my chevy colorado I'm converting.

It used to be that OPEC only had one petrol junkie willing to pay for a gasoline fix. But now, the US is no longer the only lucrative market. China is developing a taste for gas guzzling cars and most of their population had never had a car before.

The US has been reducing oil consumption for the past decade. So OPEC no longer feels obliged to do us many favors when we complain about lack of supply or high prices.

As for not working, we still have the option to organize car pools. Put up route lists in your companies cafeteria bulletin boards and make offers to alternate rides and I'm sure you can reduce fuel costs dramatically - get two people sharing a ride and you've reduced your cost by 50 percent. FOUR people and you only drive one week a month - that's a reduction in fuel of about 75 percent! For the average consumer that's a savings of $150 or more a month!

Unfortunately, if it hits $10 a gallon, having 4 people in a car pool only breaks even to a time when gas was somewhat acceptable at $2.50 a gallon.

                      Re: Ford CNG Dealer Locator

Hi folks, Im new here and this will be my first response on this forum.
Up until now i have had zero interest in CNG vehicles but that changed recently when my nieghbor who is moving gave me his CNG 1998 F250 that has been laying around in his back yard for years. In the interest of getting it up and running i have begun some research on the whole idea of CNG. Seems very attractive in some respects but the tech doesn't seem very widespread and im wondering if it will work out long term. I live in a major city Toronto and can't find service or even fast fill close by to make it worthwhile. As attractive as the price savings is for CNG, availability of servicing and refueling poses issues for a lot of us who are considering getting into the tech. To make matters worse this truck is CNG only and not a bi fuel capable without some modification. Plus reading about problems with compu valves and so forth is it really worth it for me to consider this as a viable option or should i just sell it??? After all it is old now and will need work likely and i have not been able to find a Ford CNG service tech anywhere. Thoughts??

                        Re: Ford CNG Dealer Locator

It seems that not one Ford dealer on Long Island works on CNG vehicles now.

Does anybody know of any mechanic who works on them? On Long Island, that is.

Several Ford dealers on L.I. are B.A.F. certtified service providers. http://baftechnologies.com/locations/ As they have tech's that work on the BAF cng converted Fords, they most likely will work on an older oem models, but parts support may not be great.

                            Re: Ford CNG Dealer Locator

For anyone in the SF Bay Area, I just had a problem with my 2004 F150, CNG dedicated. I took it to Towne Ford in Redwood City (which happens to be just a few blocks from my house). They said they were happy to work on CNG vehicles. Diagnosed / solved a hard start / no start problem for me.

This is where I got my 2012 CNG Ford T/C

                              Hello All,
I am a Fleet Manager at Villa Ford located in Orange Ca. It has come to my attention that it has been very difficult to locate CNG transit connects. At this time I have several (35+) units of 2012 dedicated cng transit connects on my lot that are ready for purchase. I just recentley sold a T/C to a gentelman that flew out here from San Jose to purchase one from me because he couldn't find any local dealers that could/would help him. He was very pleased with his new CNG T/C. It was he that told me about these different forums and thought it would be good to let people know that I have so many units ready for purchase. I look forward to hearing from you. Thank you.
