  • Need original cng option price for tax credit

We have a dedicated cng 2000 Ford F-150 pickup truck and cannot find out what the original price was for the cng option. We need to have this number to figure out the exact the tax credit we can claim in Utah. CNGMotors tossed out a number for us but couldn't say where they got it. If the IRS comes a'knockin' and wants some sort of proof, I'd like to be able to provide it. Help, please!

I took the rebate in Utah last year on a 2004 Honda Civic. At the time I faced the same problem. I googled up some old web pages on the 2004 NGV Civic that mentioned the price difference. I contacted the powers that be at state government and told them that was all I could find. The person I spoke with said that would be fine.

    So far so good.

If all else fails, you might get figures for current year or last year and do ratio and proportion math to back into an approximation of what you need. Should come close, and the tax people couldn't do a lot to argue with the logic.

      Good luck to you!

Not sure if this will help on your truck, but I had the original "window sticker" for my 2000 Ford Contour Bi-Fuel, and under the factory options lists:
        2.0L GASEOUS FUEL ENGINE $5,075.00

Base price of the car: $16,825.00
        Destination & Delivery: $560.00
        Total: $22,960.00

I have a F150 dedicated cng , purchased in mid Nov. fron auto excelence in WJ UT. They gave us a photo copy of the window sticker from another truck. Our application was rejected by the state for no copy of the registration, but all else was good. The state called us and told us what they need, they are very good to work with so far. Good luck

Could you scan that window sticker and make it available publically? I'm trying to make a compilation of window stickers for people to use when trying to get their tax credits.

              Thanks,

Use the PDF file I posted at the end of my top post here:

It is for 2001 and in that year they seemed to only have bi-fuel, but you should have no problem with the taxman if you show him this in an audit. Depending on your vehicle type the incremental cost is Note that the IRS won't come a knockin' it will be the Utah State Tax Commission

Please post your window sticker. I've got a BiFuel but will try to use it as the baseline.

My Original window Sticker for my 2001 Honda GX reflects an incremental cost of $ 4,500 dollars . . . therefore the tax credit would be 50% of that amount or $2,250 dollars. That's my take on it.
