Re: When Did Ford Stop Making Dedicated CNG Crown Vics?
2003 was the last ford oem ,afaik , but you can buy a brand new epa, carb / sulev cng Crown Vic from B.A.F. technologies . You order it from your Ford dealer , but B.A.F. is the manufacturer of record , and pays for warranty claims.
One more thing , bring lot's of $$$$$ if you want one. No sweetheart fleet deals like Ford was doing.
P.S. One of the biggest reasons ford left the cng and lpg light duty vehicle market was extremly high warranty costs, like a 10 fold increase over gasoline fuel vehicles . Part of this was the learning curve on fuel injected gasious fuels , low volume parts with suppliers like GFI , and dealers without alt fuel tech's. It was an unhappy situation for both Ford and the dealers.
