  • If I unhook the negative battery cable will it reset my compuvalve? 02 Bifuel f150

Title pretty much says it. I just need to unhook the negative cable on my truck to reset the intake sensor. I just don't want to pay $80 to get a compuvalve reset for a stupid mistake.
    Thanks if ya can help.

As I remember I don't think that removing power from the Compuvalve will do will change anything.

What did you do, try to change the calibration or sympoltext file?

What's the problem? I can get a hold of a guy that use to do training for GFI.

Thanks for the reply Larry, I actually need to reset it because I'm taking out the silencer on the intake. I'm only worried cause a buddy of mine unhooked his battery and when he went to hook it back up the CNG didn't work. Turned out that the Compuvalve got reset.

If the battery was disconnected for about 15 minutes or more it would reset EEC V computer (main Ford computer). The vehicle would loose all its adaptive memory and need to go through a re-learn procedure. It would run a bit weird for a short while

Like the main ECM, the Compuvalve has long term and short term memory. The short term memory will dump if the battery cable is pulled but the long term memory will stay. The long term memory is non-volatile while the short term memory is volatile, meaning that it can be affected by loss of electrical current.

When it is reconnected, you MAY or MAY NOT detect any difference in the way it runs, depending on how far off the short term memory is from the long term.

Thanks Franz, forgot about the adaptive memory in the compuvalve. Been a long time.
