Ford Contour issue HELP!

    Ford Contour issue HELP!

    I was wondering if anybody can help me on this,
    When i try to run on cng my 98 ford contour cng light comes on and stay on but never start-up. for me looks like the tank is not releasing any cng.
    in other words my car try to start but never start-up on cng.
    My car in gasoline star-up with not problem

    Test your high pressure lock off valve. The lock off is built into the tank valve on the Contours. Have someone turn the ignition key on and off while you stand by the open trunk. You can hear the valve open and close if it is working correctly. If the lockoff is stuck you will have the symptoms that you are describing.

      just bought a 97 and it's doing the same thing......I can hear the click in the tank when I turn on the key and switch to gfi .......... I also smelled a little cng. The click is not very loud but it's there.

          Mine won't start and smells like cng. Dealer said they see a lot of leaking pressure regulators and said the intake manifold has to be removed to get to the regulator........can anyone confirm where the regulator is because I really dont think the manifold needs to be removed.

            That mean the tank has to be changed?

              dealer supposedly found a blocked fuel line so mine is now working
