  • FORD Bi-Fuel Compuvalve Problem

    Hello,

I have a 2000 Ford F150 Truck Bi-Fuel and when I switch to the ALT button and wait for the green light to come on it shows up then goes away. I need help understanding what signals any problems on this GFI system? Last month when I start on CNG it would blink and not switch.

Does anyone have the run down on what it means when the light comes on then off or when it keeps blinking? Is there any way to fix this because I cannot run my truck on CNG anymore. PLEASE HELP

There is a supplement to the owners manual for the bi-fuel system. In it you can find a sentence or two about the blinking light. Can't remember off the top of my head what it says.

Bad news. There is a problem with the comunication with compuvalve. My contour is blinking also, one solid and two blinking. In the book it states that the constant blinking is a problem with the comunication with compuvalve. the random blinking wich I described is some ODBII code is arizen. I can't find no ODBII code.

The compuvalve is the weak link in the Ford CNG systems. Pasta, when you said you can't find the OBII code, do you mean you couldn't find it with an OBDII scanner?
The Ford diagnostic book for the CNG systems says to pull any codes for the engine first, then the Compuvalve afterwards.

No codes in the OBDII what so ever. I did take the car to Champion, and they said I need a new compuvalve and regulator. $100 for something i already known, but where you are about to spend $1500 on a remanufactured compuvalve, I had to double and triple check.
This is ridicolus FORD has the compuvalves on backorder till August sometime. I have read some places that FORD will not waranty the $1500 part!!!
