I have a 2001 F-150 with about 20K miles on it. I just got it out of the shop about 2-3 weeks ago. They replaced the compuvalve and one coil pack. It ran okay when I took it home. I ran a little rough when it was cold but once it warmed up it ran great. About 2-3 days ago I got a "Service Engine Soon" light on. I plugged in the OBDII and got P0134 (Oxygen Sensor) code. The "Service Engine Soon" went out. I was going to replace the sensor anyway to be safe, but today as I was driving the truck it quit running as I was leaving a parking lot. It would not start (it cranked great - good battery). I tried the switch in both positions (alt and gas). I finally towed it home. Any ideas?

Re: 2001 F-150 Quit Running
I would call Ed Kenly Ford in Layton and ask about the system. They service CNG Fords, and should be able to tell you if it is under warranty. I am thinking there was a 7 year/70,000 mile warranty on emission systems. Check your owner's manual.
Good Luck

Re: 2001 F-150 Quit Running
Just don't take it to Champion, "Turbo" there quoted be $2750 for a repair I brought it back to AZ and fixed it for $15 (yes 15.00 dollars)
I agree with Dave. If you have been running the fuel tank on empty while running on CNG you may have burnt up the fuel pump, always keep at least a 1/4 tank of gasoline in it. Then the 2nd problem is quite common the tank valves going bad on the Ford should be about $550 for the part from Fordsigpichttp://WWW.CNGMOTORS.COM

Re: 2001 F-150 Quit Running
There is also a fuel shut off switch on them. I don't know the location of it on the newer fords but mine is under the dash on the right side.(If your in the drivers seat.) Its to shut the fuel off in case of a accident. I had to tow a truck that wouldn't start and someone had bumped the connector and broke it. (Found that after i replaced the fuel pump) But it should tell you in your owners manuel where it is. Good luck! You can do anything except light a paper match, on a marshmellow, underwater!

Re: 2001 F-150 Quit Running
I let the truck set over night and it started right up the next day. I started it on both gasoline and CNG. I drove it around the block and it ran great on both. It showed half full on CNG and full on gasoline. I am confused.

Re: 2001 F-150 Quit Running
I have a 2001 F150 bifuel. CNG doesn't work. In my checking, I found a good wiring diagram. If your truck is like mine, there is a power relay package on the side of the battery case. The power to the Gasoline fuel pump is routed through that. When the CNG is on, a relay on the board switched the power from the goalone fuel pump to the CNG system. There are two fuses on that board.
However, if you were able to restart it after it killed, it wouldn't be a blown fuse. I may have had something to do with the way the system works.
If it does it again, rather than directly trying to restart it, shut the key off, then switch the ALT fuel switch next to the steering wheel. See if it restars with switch in both positions, being sure to shut key completely off between trys.

The key gets us all.... I just did it today. Went to ace, got a new key made, thought my f150 was junk!! Always happy it's just the stupid key!!..
So how do you get an extra key? Can I just order a transponder key on ebay and have it cut locally?? How does that thing work?2000 Escalade (option 3 conversion) FOR SALE

Re: 2001 F-150 Quit Running
When my truck quit I put the key from my other Ford car in by mistake. I don't know how it turned the ignition because they arn't that simular. It started and drove fine for about 100 yards then it just died. I had a sick fealing because I thought something major was wrong. Then I noticed it was my Contour key in the ignition and on hunch I changed the key and it started easy. I was extreamly!! happy.
My brother in-law told me that if you have two chiped keys it is pretty easy to buy a blank key and program it yourself. But if you only have one you have to take it some were to have it programed.

Re: 2001 F-150 Quit Running
Mine didn't start once. It didn't start at all with the non-transponder key, just kept cranking over and over. I only have one key so I guess I have to visit the dealer to get my spare.2000 Escalade (option 3 conversion) FOR SALE
