I think that I have a damaged nozzle on the unput to my Crn Vic tank. Dust damage i think. Slow leak. Does anyone have a spare intake nozzle?
thanks [email protected]
If you are referring to the filler nozzle, I believe it is a fairly common problem on several of the Fords. Mine doesn't leak, but both of my son's leaked, just slightly. I think it takes and o ring fix. Not sure though. Check for a thread on this section as I believe it was discussed here.
Good Luck

I'm not sure what the Ford price is, the inlet assembly on a Chevrolet, if ordered through Chevy is around $600.00.
You may want to try a little rubbing alcohol and then some dry silicone spray.
All it takes is for a little dirt to get lodged in the seat and it will leak after you take the fill nozzle off.
If it leaks while fueling, make sure the o-ring is still in place around the inside of the throat of your fill recepticle.
Sometimes putting the fill nozzle on and off several times will clear the seat and it will seal. Was a frequent problem on the older factory Chevy PU's that filled though the cover behind the cab, verticle recepticle caught anything that fell into it.
If it turns out that you need a new filler for your Vic, I know that Alt Fuel Technology in Huntington Beach has come up with an aftermarket filler that they used to do for about $350 installed

I can sell you one if you need a new Factory replacement.
I'm having trouble with my fill receptacle too. It's a 2003 Crown Vic. I just bought it and filled it 3 times at fast-fill stations, but when I got home to use my Fuelmaker FM4 (3000psi) something happened. I think the "o" ring in the receptacle is missing. The receptacle on my CNG Contour (3000psi) has a metal check valve or dust valve at the opening of the receptacle to keep out dust, moisture, etc.which covers the small opening completely. But the Crown Vic valve looks like an open throat...no check valve or anything at the entrance of the receptacle. Maybe I damaged it while trying to get the 3000 psi nozzle on the 3600 psi receptacle. Fuelmaker said it shouldn't be a problem and I don't think it is because the 3000 nozzle attaches and begins filling, but I get no gas in the tank! Then the FM4 gives an error light after a while! I think I have a problem with my fill receptacle. Perhaps a missing "o" ring. Any suggestions,
Thanks,

I have lost the o-ring before on my C-V. It is just a simple O-ring (though, unfortunately, I'm unsire of the size to tell you right now). IT will certainly cause a LOT of leaking on filling, but should not cause any leaks other than that, as it is purely the seal between the car nozzle, and the fueling attachment.
If your o-ring was already damaaged (which is not unlikely) it is possible that a rish of pressure from the home unit could have been it's last straw. It woudlnt' be a problem of the 3000# vs. 3600# though, just dumb bad luck.

Sorry I gave a false alarm! The problem was not with the receptacle or the Fuelmaker as reported, but with the "operator!" I did replace the o ring in the receptacle with the help of a friend. I got them at the local hardware store...I replaced the one on the 1998 Contour too, and it was pretty dried out and brittle.
All is well.

After continuing to have trouble filling the Crown Vic (3600 psi) from the FM4, a friend of mine tried holding the nozzle tightly to the car receptacle until the pressure built up...about 20 seconds. After that, the car filled pretty well...about 75% overnight. I tried the same trick with the Contour (3000 psi), and it filled without any problems. It seems that the nozzle does not make a tight connection with the receptacle initially, but after after holding it tightly it seems to catch on. It may be that the receptacles are beginning to leak and will need to be replaced. I'm not sure of the physics of this, but it's working.
