      Re: fuel filters for f-150

      Jerry,
My son bought about 15 of these a few months ago at a very reasonble price. I will see if he might be interested in selling any of them. I believe they are all the same. I put one on my 2001 F150 but am not sure which other vehicles they fit. I will try to catch up to my son this week and see if he would part with a few of them with a bit extra for his time.

You didn't say where you were, but we are in Salt Lake City area. Champion Ford here I understand sells them for $107. Sno-Motion sells them but I don't know how much, probably less.

If you look down the Ford site here, I put a question out about the cost of getting the filters changed. Someone said they found a filter for a 'Vicky (Crown Victoria) for $13 plus $10 shipping. Someone else PM's me, but I haven't checked with my son on his source yet.
Just a thought...coalescing filters are very common in industrial use and these exact filters can be found for closer to the $13 price than the dealer price. I was worried about the price difference in filters (almost $100 dollars) until I realized both filters are probably the exact same filter of the same manufacturer, but with different numbers.

P.S. My filter was torn abit when I changed it, too. If your filter canister fits like mine, it's such a tight fit to get the filter onto the perforated tube, that sometimes it is weakened and then tears under use. Be sure to very carefully put the filter on the tube making sure the tube doesn't scrape the inside of of the filter loosening some of the material. When you replacing the cannister, also be careful not to damage the filter with the cannister.

the filter from ford includes the o ring. Willey Ford in Bountinful sells the oring and filter kit for 50.00. Do the filters you are using include an oring? If not what is your source for the oring.

          Thanks

I talked to my son on his filter. They do not include the o ring. I believe it is somewhat of a standard o ring. I picked one up at a local hardware store. I don't know where he got his. He said he will sell one of the filters he has for $20 and will just meet someone with it. He lives in Eagle Mountain and works in South Salt Lake.
The CNG guy at Champion Ford in Salt Lake City said that all of the Ford's that are BI_FUEL use the same filter. Contours, Crown Vic's, F150's E150 etc.
If you are interested, PM me and I will send you his contact information.
