  • too bad there was never a Tesla of the CNG world

Had there of been I think things would of turned out differently.

What I mean by Tesla of the cng world is a passenger car that was not only cheap to drive and good for the environment but also looked good and was fun to drive.

What we got was a Chevy Cavalier and a 110 h.p. Honda Civic that remained relatively unchanged after 17 year's of production.

I would of loved to see a Chevy SS sedan powered by CNG. Think about it, room for 5, 400+ H.p. V8. 200-300 miles of range, decent trunk space.

Whatever reason it never happened im sure people said the similar things about tesla.

As far as fueling infrastructure goes, there were way more public cng stations available to the public then there were supercharger stations when the model S came out.

Maybe if some manufacturer got 5 billion in subsidies like Tesla got it could of happened.

What about the Dodge Charger CNG concept? I saw it at the Detroit Auto Show long before I knew anything about CNG.

CNG is still a great option we just have no OEM support honda dropping the civic natural gas was the nail in the coffin for regular consumers pretty much all options now are for comercial use .... i am going to hold on to my civic till it dies or gets rear ended like my last civic did
