          There are economically-viable alternatives to get rid of, or at least reduce the dependence on imported oil (or shale oil which has some environmental downsides to consider). CNG is sure one of those answers, and is relatively easy to implement in a nationwide basis, the problem is more political than technical.

            Amen to that. How else to explain the non adoption of CNG in the US?

              When we see that 3rd-world countries have a more solid presence of CNG in their markets, it's even harder to explain why it doesn't happen in the USA with all the technical and financial support available. Maybe with commercial operators starting the trend the average Joe is going to become more aknowledged about CNG and bio-gas/bio-CNG that are even better if we take into account all the hype about biofuels.
