  • Low Pressure Adsorbed CNG ( ANG ) demonstration station in S.C.

Ingevity built a test station at it's H.Q.

Adsorbed CNG aka ANG , at 900 psi. ( activated carbon as the storage media) .

Works great in the laboratory with relatively pure methane. The problem is activated carbon also likes impurities too. Typical compressed natural gas is a buffet of undesirable things , like water, compressor oil, carbon dioxide, ethane , etc. CNG derived from LNG and thermal compression could be the solution .

Added consideration is - - slow-fill natural gas to a targeted 900 psi, refilling the ANG cylinders within several hours - -
