  • Natural Gas Vehicle Users Urge Congress to Extend Alternative Fuel Tax Credits

As we know, the 50 cent per GGE tax credit on CNG fuel expired one year ago.
NGV America and the Propane vehicle industry have written a letter to ask for a re-instatement. The letter can abe found here: http://www.ngvamerica.org/member_con...er%20final.pdf

NGV America is asking interested parties to contact your federal elected officials and encourage them to support including AFTC in a year-end spending bill. We are hearing rumors that some tax credits may be considered as part of this week’s spending bill, so please ensure you reach out to your contacts as soon as possible.

    From NGV America:

Today the Senate filed its tax extender bill language, which includes a 2 year extension of the Alternative Fuels Tax Credit and a 2 year extension of the Alternative Fuel Vehicle Refueling Property credit. (One year forward and one year retroactive).

Please consider reaching out to your House contacts – especially those with Ways and Means influence – over the next week or so asking them to include the provisions in their language as well.

Expectation is that the must pass CR will extend until January 19th. A catch-all package would address all these must-dos (including the AFTC) then as Congress hopefully finalizes a 2018 budget.
