Hey gang, CNGchat needs your help!

For over a decade we have enjoyed providing this little corner of the Internet for folks to discuss all things natural gas vehicles. It is the largest forum of its kind: with some 70,000 posts on over 11,000 topics. But with continued low gasoline & diesel prices and strong automaker support for electric vehicles, consumer interest in CNG has dropped considerably, and with it has visitor traffic here. As a result, Google ad revenues no longer cover hosting fees.

If you find CNGchat to be a useful resource then please consider making a modest donation to support keeping this remarkable pool of knowledge available to the alternative fuels community. Thanks!

This hydrogen home fueling appliance appears in the summary video for ACT 2017 . Together with fast-fill H2 stations and full-size transit buses which run on H2, the point could be made that everything is now out there - priceless.

The article says the H2 home fueling appliance gets hydrogen by electrolyzing water (oxygen is vented away), gives no indication of how it is compressed to 10,000 psi, and has a carbon-fiber tank which holds 5 kg - enough for a car to go 300 miles. A kg of H2 takes 15 minutes to produce.

(Hydrogen cars have electric drives like EVs, but do not have to be charged - fuel is simply added to the tank and is consumed in a fuel cell to make electricity.)
