Hey gang, CNGchat needs your help!

For over a decade we have enjoyed providing this little corner of the Internet for folks to discuss all things natural gas vehicles. It is the largest forum of its kind: with some 70,000 posts on over 11,000 topics. But with continued low gasoline & diesel prices and strong automaker support for electric vehicles, consumer interest in CNG has dropped considerably, and with it has visitor traffic here. As a result, Google ad revenues no longer cover hosting fees.

If you find CNGchat to be a useful resource then please consider making a modest donation to support keeping this remarkable pool of knowledge available to the alternative fuels community. Thanks!

  • Can't Get My 2000 F150 to start?

I just picked up a 2000 bi-fuel f150 and it cranks but it won't start?

I though the fuel pump was out (so I changed it.. and the fuel filter) since I couldn't smell any gasoline near the intake when I was pumpin' the gas?

there's a switch on the dash that reads alt or gas.. I have it on gas and it seems like nothing happens when I switch it?

anyone got any ideas???... it doesn't seem to be getting any fuel (gasoline) to the intake.. I got 3/4 tank in there too?

If you think it's not getting fuel, try some starting fluid.

Throwing parts at it without troubleshooting gets very expensive.

When you say "just picked up" was it running at any time ?

I might also add I have a 2001 f-150 bi-fuel and although it runs very well on CNG or gasoline, it always cranks longer when switched to ALT.
