Biomethane, or Bio natural gas as it is referred to in Germany, is playing an increasingly important role at German petrol stations, reports German association erdgas mobile e.V. In just the first seven months of this year, the number of stations where 100 per cent bio-gas can be refueled more than doubled, from 35 to 76. Overall, renewable natural gas is available at just under 230 of the 900 natural gas filling stations in Germany, in varying ratios. added to the renewable natural gas equivalent at different heights. Having renewable fuel at one in every four natural gas filling stations has contributed to the nationwide fall CO2 emissions from natural gas vehicles, by another 3%. Read More »

Just thinking, anybody have an idea of how much bio-methane is produced from a sewer plant of a town of 30-50k?

Enough to fuel all the towns government vehicles and school buses. Just a guess though.

Fair Oaks Farm is a dairy. It and another large dairy are fueling all their big milk delivery tankers and building service stations along select routes. http://www.nwitimes.com/business/loc...a5c7541a2.html

I'm not so excited about fossil Natural Gas, but I like the concept behind the bio-methane. Altough it requires a secondary fuel system, in opposition to the single-tank setup in a flexfuel (ethanol/gasoline), bio-methane is a smarter way to overcome the issues related to the impact on food prices than ethanol. And it's also better than just throwing that raw methane in the atmosphere.

This is really very good news. Biomethane Filling stations is really good source to have as we all know natural resources are very less. Thanks for sharing.
