  • Impco hpr 3600 leaking?

I have a 2000 Chevy Cavalier and I just noticed that something was leaking from the back of my car. I got under the car and found out it was my hpr. Is it the radiator fluid leaking or something else? Please help I live in Orem Utah. Thank you

The HPR is heated by coolant to prevent the regulator from freezing up during cold weather operation---what you are seeing is indeed coolant. Check around the two rubber hoses going to the HPR and the fittings to be sure the leak isn't caused by either. If the leak is from the body of the HPR, it's time for a replacement. Sometimes they show up on e-bay, otherwise new replacements are available. The Impco HPR 3600 isn't an exact replacement for the one in your Cavalier but is close enough to be an easy replacement. There are a couple of threads on this site that will lead you through the HPR replacement.

I looked under it and it's not leaking from the hoses it's leaking above the hpr. And it looks like a brown water
