Hey gang, CNGchat needs your help!

For over a decade we have enjoyed providing this little corner of the Internet for folks to discuss all things natural gas vehicles. It is the largest forum of its kind: with some 70,000 posts on over 11,000 topics. But with continued low gasoline & diesel prices and strong automaker support for electric vehicles, consumer interest in CNG has dropped considerably, and with it has visitor traffic here. As a result, Google ad revenues no longer cover hosting fees.

If you find CNGchat to be a useful resource then please consider making a modest donation to support keeping this remarkable pool of knowledge available to the alternative fuels community. Thanks!

Is the VIN 1HGEN26442L000244 ? Just curious because a white '01 auctioned on the East Coast 2 weeks ago had this VIN in the listing and the 10th digit 2=2002. Price you are asking is about what that one and 2 others sold for and they can only be driven about 6 months until they need a $4-$7000 tank replacement:

“All CNG cylinders for use in road vehicles in the U.S. must be labeled with a ‘do not use after’ date. This is a uniform federal regulation applying throughout the U.S. and is contained in Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) 304 Compressed Natural Gas Fuel Container Integrity”

Not the same vehicle, although I am curious why a small tank would be 4-$7 k replacement?
      Also just curious.
