  • Executive branch takes action against California emission standards.

If this is successful, it will open up California owners and drivers to cng and lpg vehicle conversions that only meet federal epa standards . . Hope it goes through, but not going to hold my breath.

Joann Muller, Ben GemanSep for AXIOS Sept 6, 2019 - Feds aims to block California's emissions end run

Trump's plan is to freeze emissions standards at 2022 levels, rather than allow them to climb sharply higher.

The Justice Department is seeking to determine if Ford, VW, Honda and BMW violated federal competition law by agreeing with each other to follow tailpipe-emissions standards beyond those proposed by the Trump administration.

Additionally, lawyers for the EPA and the Transportation Department on Thursday warned Mary Nichols, chairwoman of the California Air Resources Board, of legal action if the state tries to set its own rules "that would violate federal law."

    About AXIOS:

All of us left cool, safe jobs to start a new company with this shared belief: Media is broken — and too often a scam.

The data on what news readers want is unmistakable: content they can trust — delivered way, way more efficiently. No bias. No nonsense. Every piece of content we produce will be broken down and narrated with true expertise - and then summarized in one shareable element. You can decide whether to go deeper. Often, there's no need. We have one agenda: help people get smarter, faster.
