Alt Fuels Colorado Program Offering More Grants for Fleets

in News Departments > Policy Watch
by NGT News on Wednesday June 10, 2015

The Regional Air Quality Council (RAQC) has launched the application process for vehicle grants under its latest round of funding under the Alt Fuels Colorado program. The Colorado Energy Office recently started seeking new bids for alternative fuel station grants under the program.

At this time, RAQC is offering funding to incentivize the purchase or lease of new OEM Class 2-8 compressed natural gas (CNG), propane autogas, electric, and CNG bi-fuel vehicles.

Funding is available for public, non-profit and private fleets domiciled in or near the Colorado ozone nonattainment and/or carbon monoxide maintenance areas, which include Adams, Arapahoe, Boulder, Broomfield, Denver, Douglas, Jefferson, parts of Larimer, parts of Weld, parts of El Paso, and parts of Teller counties.

RAQC will pay up to 80% of the incremental cost of an alternative fuel vehicle. Funding caps range from as low as $3,000 for a light-duty vehicle for private fleets and as high as $35,000 for a heavy-duty vehicle for public and non-profit fleets.

RAQC says it will accept questions until June 23, with applications due July 7.

More information and the application can be found here.
