Re: Pomona Picks Mack CNG Trucks to Replace Diesel-Powered Refuse Fleet

Great news for little city of Pomona, CA that entire 22 trash truck fleet going to CNG!!

Curious about what's average price for CNG trash truck as $5.6M divided by 22 trucks works out to $255,000 per truck ... which is AFTER the CEC funding grant??!!? Surely city also got Federal grant on heavy GVW trucks as well. What was gross cost of truck if $255,000 each is net cost??

Joseph Bebon for NGTNews Oct 27, 2017 - Mack Trucks will continue offering natural-gas-powered versions of its Mack LR and TerraPro models, which are now available with the latest Cummins Westport L9N natural gas engine. L9N produces 320 horsepower and 1,000 lb.-ft. of torque and produces NOx exhaust emissions that are 90% lower than the current EPA limit of 0.2 g/bhp-hr. Mack made the announcement at the 2017 Canadian Waste & Recycling Expo in Niagara Falls, Ontario:
