Re: Civic GX Parts Exchange Fuel Injector Cleaning

you can have them rebuilt at Lindertech.com . Not
sure if they come with a warranty or anything, but at $70 dollars rather than $375+ for a new one.
    From ajgiorgi (thanks AJ)

    From cnglo: GX Fuel Filters
You can get both filters at http://bernardiparts.com. I have searched around and found Bernardi to be the cheapest for these. If you find them for less, let us know. At the Bernardi website, do an advanced search on Honda parts. Burrow down through "ELECTRICAL/EXHAUST/HEATER/FUEL" until you get to a selection for "FUEL PIPE". The filters are numbers 9 and 10 in the illustration and the list. One (16905-RNE-A00) costs $52.62, and the other (16905-S1G-003) costs $22.11. Shipping is extra.

Lakewood90712 has just posted in the Honda Civic GX forum of Natural Gas Vehicle Owner
Community under the title of CNG Civic Replacement parts?.

This thread is located at http://cngchat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1952

Here is the message that has just been posted:
      ***************
      Go on the web.
I have purchased parts from bernardi , Cheapesthondaparts , and majestic.

All three are authorized honda dealers with genuine oem parts, 25-30% off of list. All three sent first quality parts by internet order.

I got my injectors rebuilt throught rockauto (internet - www.rockauto.com). $40 each with flow testing on all (they did it through a CA based shop). Two were unrebuildable. Honda wanted $400 each to replace. Found non-honda parts at $152 each. I will be checking the three others named here (cheapest honda has fairly good diagrams avail - at least better resolution to the screen than my local dealer had - unfortunately my local dealer's parts person couldn't understand the GX parts list and was quoting $800 for the high pressure fuel filter just thanked him and contacted next nearest dealer). The only GX certified dealer I can find in UT is Ken Garff in SLC (even his other locations are not allowed to certify their mechanics).

I got the price of that filter reduced to $70 retail some time ago (part only). Hopefully that quote wasn't recent.

            lakewood90712,
here are the injectors rockauto showed:
            AIRTEX Part # 4G1299
            MPI; 06164-PDN-J00
            for HONDA CIVIC GX (1999 - 2005)

            STANDARD MOTOR PRODUCTS Part # FJ327 {INJECTOR}
            for HONDA CIVIC GX (1999 - 2004)

So these 2 manufacturers vary on which years they claim the injector fits in, but not by
much and they don't cross list with other honda vehicles.

              Re: Civic GX Parts Exchange

NO, the entire filter assembly is quoted at most honda dealers as about $800. My aftermarket injectors are now at 230% of what I paid 6 months ago ($152 - now $352) and high pressure filter here in UT was between $20 and $30 (a lot for a little paper) - 99 didn't have a low one. I sure hope my vehicle doesn't need a FPC since the one on cheaperhonda was about $1200 (that is enough to have me looking at alternatives - rebuild it, or otherwise).

Does anyone else have links to other discounted honda parts? With some of the newer parts pricing I'm seeing, I will still consider aftermarket ones too.

I use DCH Honda in Temecula, CA all the time for discount GX parts. Mike Cobain is their internet parts guy. Great to deal with. Very helpful in every way. (888) 236-5839 -Art

                  This is curtesy of CNGLO:

If you can't find a cheaper manual on eBay, you can find them at Helminc.com (our link is in "Helpful Links" top left sidebar.)

You can get both filters at http://bernardiparts.com.

I suggest you get the GX-specific service manual for instructions on how to safely turn off the gas valves, depressurize the system, and properly change the filters.

Hey guys, anyone out there know if the air filter for an 08 GX is the same as a gas version 08?

If it isn't, does anyone have the part number for it?

                    Thanks!

Head over to Pep Boys and get a K&N for about 40 bucks, they know the part number. You will notice the performance difference.

Sal, it should be the same on both models.

                          Re: Civic GX Parts Exchange

My fuel injectors died at 160k and I couldn't find a remanufacturer that would touch them. I tried the sources in this thread and they all said they did not work on CNG injectors. I went to rockauto.com and ordered 2 sets - one set from Delphi (part FJ10543) was $65 each, but I doubt they will work. I called the Delphi tech line and they swear up and down that the part is for the CNG Civic. However, the same part is listed for the gasoline HX model, too, so I'm very suspicious. As a backup, I also bought a set of the Standard Motor Products FJ327 injectors at $271 a pop.

Both sets are being shipped to Curtis' dealer, so we'll see what's right.

                            Re: Civic GX Parts Exchange

I was able to get a better look at home over the weekend. I went to the local dealer and got a quote for a primed replacement of a bit over $300. The replacement looks like 2 bolts and a bunch of clips. I don't know what a body shop would charge to paint and paint and replace, I'll get a quote. In the mean time I got hot glue to grip and hold and it doesn't look too bad. The break isn't all the way to the back and it's only the lower grill and just below so I think it's stable for the moment. Just above the lower grill, the bumper has a good bit of road rash that I don't believe I can get buffed clean. I have the luxury of time to things worked out. The insurance is $500 deductable and my bet is that I'll be just a bit over that if I do the install work myself. As a side note, did I see that some of this body style came with fog lights integrated into the bumper? Mabey it's a good time to upgrade!
